summarize

The WE-LOST85 transmitter can be connected to various types of sensors including soil temperature and humidity, air temperature and humidity, soil conductivity (salinity), ammonia, hydrogen sulfide gas, formaldehyde gas sensors, and more. The transmitter is solar powered throughLoRaThe sensor data is sent wirelessly to the transmitter gateway over a distance of up to 2 kilometers in open conditions. Finally, the sensor data is sent via the transmitter gateway to the data application server.

One of the highlights of the product is that it is powered by solar energy, which reduces the maintenance cost to almost zero. Even continuous rainy weather allows the device to work properly.

FAQs

The transmitter defaults to report data every 5 minutes, report success, flash a green light, report failure flash a red light. The indicator light has not been flashing, indicating that the transmitter battery is out of power.

The solution is as follows:

  • Place the transmitter in the sunlight for a period of time (half an hour is sufficient).
  • Alternatively, open the top cover of the transmitter and use the matching 5V power adapter to charge the transmitter in an emergency. When charging, the power adapter indicator light is red, fully charged, the indicator light turns green.

After more than half an hour of light on a sunny day, or after the charger has been charged for more than 10 minutes, observe the indicator light for more than 5 minutes, and if the light still doesn't flash, please open the cover and press the reset button to reset the circuit board.

After pressing the reset button, you can see the indicator light flashes four times according to "red, green, red, green", and then wait for 15 seconds, the transmitter will do the first time to collect and send the data, observe the indicator light, the green light flashes that the transmission is successful, and the red light flashes that the transmission fails. If the indicator light flashes normally, the device is normal, please continue charging.
Indicator light has not been flashing, then the device is faulty, please return to the factory for warranty repairThe

The dial plate has four dialing positions, [1], [2], [3], [4], and the value is "1" when the dial code is up, and "0" when the dial code is down. The corresponding transmit frequency of the dial is as follows

shorthand formula
A. 0/0/0/0/0 for 1 minute
B. 0/X/X/X, the formula is: 5*X/X/X minutes. For example, X/X/X is 1/1/0 (decimal 6), 5*6 = 30 minutes.
C. 1/X/X/X, the formula is: 30*(X/X/X+1) minutes. For example, X/X/X is 1/1/0 (decimal 6), 30*(6+1) = 210 minutes (3.5 hours).

The transmitter's wireless band must be aligned with the gateway to communicate properly. In one area, if multiple gateways are deployed, different gateways need to work on different wireless bands. The following two situations require additional gateways (other wireless bands)
A. Other gateways have been deployed within 2 kilometers.
B. The number of transmitters accessed by the gateway has exceeded the upper limit (the gateway can receive up to 200 data reports per minute). For example, if the transmitters are set to report data every 5 minutes, the maximum number of transmitters that the gateway can access is 5*200 = 1000 (transmitters). If the number of transmitters accessed by the gateway exceeds 1000, additional gateways are required.

Through the above analysis, it can be seen that, in general, there is no need to deploy multiple gateways, and the transmitter's wireless transmission band can work in the default "0" band without any change.

In special cases, the wireless transmitter frequency band can be modified using the parameter setting software. Connect the computer to the transmitter's sensor interface using the RS485 to USB cable (optional).

RS485 to USB cable (optional)

When the configuration cable is connected to the computer, the device manager of the computer should be able to recognize the serial port as "CH340", and note down the serial port number.

If the device manager only shows an "exclamation point device", it means that the computer can not recognize the USB serial device, you need to install the appropriate driver.

Driver download link:http://www.wch.cn/downloads/CH341SER_EXE.html

Run the Transmitter Configuration Tool software.

Open the serial port, then reset the transmitter (open the cover and press the reset button). Observe the transmitter indicator, the red light keeps flashing, indicating that it has entered the configuration modification state.
At this point, the configuration software has also entered the setup state, and you can see the firmware version number of the read transmitter

Select the channel you want to configure and tap "Apply" button.
After the setting is completed, close the setting software and the transmitter automatically enters the normal working state.

Observe the transmitter indicator for 5 minutes (the default is to send data once every 5 minutes), does the indicator flash green, flashing green means the data has been sent to the gateway. If it flashes red, it means the data sending failed, please make sure the transmitter gateway is working.

reset button

If you don't want to wait, you can open the top cover of the transmitter and press the "reset button" to reset the circuit board. 15 seconds after the circuit board reset, the transmitter will carry out the first data acquisition and transmission, after the transmission will flash a green or red light to indicate whether the data is sent successfully.

Quick access to data

Open the gateway test software and connect the gateway to see the data sent from the transmitter to the gateway on the test software.
