Ethiopia
Currently, Hisense has entered the execution phase of the intelligent public transportation construction project formally signed with the municipal government of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. This project is the first intelligent transportation integration project constructed by Hisense Intelligent Transportation overseas, which means that China's intelligent transportation technology standards have begun to systematically move towards overseas markets.
It is understood that in 1994, Hisense entered the South African market, from then on opened the first station of internationalization. 28 years later, Hisense intelligent transportation projects for the first time overseas, the beginning is still the vast land of Africa. Mou Sangang, general manager of the international business department of Hisense Network Science and Technology Company, introduced that the construction cycle of the Addis Ababa intelligent public transportation project signed by Hisense is 21 months, and after the completion of the project, the public can obtain real-time information on public transportation through the APP, electronic passenger information screen, etc.; and the public transportation enterprise realizes the real-time monitoring of the public transportation vehicles, remote control, and intelligent scheduling, and realizes the analysis of the matching of passenger flow and capacity and analysis of the input of resources, Mechanical material index monitoring and other functions, to provide a basis for scientific decision-making.
Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, is one of the largest cities in Africa, with a resident population of about 5 million, and traffic congestion is one of its major problems. Taking the bus is an important way for local citizens to travel, but every rush hour, dozens of meters of queuing at the bus stop, waiting for half an hour is a common occurrence, public transportation is in urgent need of intelligent upgrading. The local government is also very eager to promote Hisense's project. In the signing ceremony held on March 14, local time, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanek Abebe said, with the help of Hisense construction of public transport intelligent system, will enhance the local bus operating capacity, improve the level of local transportation services.
Thanks to the loan support from the World Bank, in March 2021, the Addis Ababa Transportation Authority officially issued a tender notice to carry out intelligent transformation of the local public transportation system. This tender attracted the attention of a number of Chinese companies, and Hisense and Shandong Expressway formed a consortium to participate as well.
"Hisense is one of the few Chinese intelligent transportation companies that can meet the other party's bidding threshold requirements." Mou Sangang introduced, in the bidding process, they want to do all kinds of ways to understand the local status quo and technical requirements, and constantly optimize the program, and finally after nine months of lengthy bidding, Hisense and Shandong high-speed group consortium composed of a number of competing enterprises in a fierce competition successfully break through to the technical indicators and price indicators of the dual-first, successfully won the bid.
