Where forklifts, pallet jacks, and pedestrians share plant aisles, blind spots and noise often make horns and reflective strips inadequate. West Electronics uses vehicle-side UWB tag WE-UG230 with person-side ranging tag WE-T206-H for short-range ranging alerts: supports local standalone deployment (cloud optional), via RS485 output for secondary development or sound/light and slowdown logic; the vehicle unit has dual independent relays (active/passive) for on-site alarm linkage. This page is a sanitized scenario brief; figures come only from public datasheets and live product pages — no customer names or quotes.
Customer pain points

- Blind spots and close encounters: On turns, dock doors, and stacking aisles, drivers may not see pedestrians in time.
- Rules and horns are not enough: In noisy plants, after sound/light becomes habitual, there is no distance-threshold → graded alert safety net.
- Prefer not to deploy full cloud RTLS first: Some power plants and factories only need near-range person–vehicle warnings — preferstandalone / local— feeding distance or alert state into existing PLC/AGV controllers instead of building plant-wide RTLS first.
- Clear secondary-development interfaces: Stable vehicle interfaces (RS485 / relay contacts) for in-house software or RS485→TCP gateways — not locked to one cloud vendor.
Solution architecture

Positioning: person–vehicle UWB ranging anti-collision warning(vehicle hero) — not a plant-wide RTLS floor-plan deployment. Outdoor high-power anchors and similar may be covered elsewhere;this page does not expand floor anchoring.
Typical chain (conceptual): person-worn WE-T206-H ←UWB ranging→ vehicle WE-UG230 → local sound/light or buzzer · relay contacts (active/passive) · RS485 messages (secondary development / optional RS485→TCP).
- A · Local standalone warning: On-vehicle ranging and alerts; cloud optional; relays drive vehicle/aisle sound-light; RS485 can feed a local host or gateway.
- B · Hardware data into the customer system: Customer buys hardware only, parses RS485 (or via serial server) into AGV/forklift controllers for active slowdown or stop logic.
Core hardware

UWB vehicle anti-collision electronic tag WE-UG230: IEEE 802.15.4a UWB; line-of-sight link 1500 m (@110 Kbps — RF capability, not ranging accuracy); RS485; dual independent relays (active/passive); Sub-G & BLE optional; DC 12–48 V; power <5 W; ranging refresh 0.1–20 Hz adjustable; IP65; size 125×125×80 mm.
UWB wristband/hard-hat electronic tag WE-T206-H: IEEE 802.15.4a UWB; rechargeable Li-ion; SOS button; IP67; wristband or hard-hat wear; TDoA and ToF (per product page overview). Store product path is /product/we-t229-h/; SKU copy uses WE-T206-H.
Deployment and integration

- Vehicle mount: Fix WE-UG230 on forklift/pallet jack; power from DC 12–48 V; one aviation connector for power+RS485, the other for active/passive relays (datasheet).
- Person wear: Operators wear WE-T206-H (wristband or hard-hat mount per site PPE rules).
- Local alarm: Dual relays drive sound/light, buzzer, or vehicle cue loops; datasheet relays 250 V @5 A Max, response as fast as 1 s — copy says “on-site linkage” only; do not invent unpublished distance thresholds.
- Data out: RS485 from the vehicle unit for customer secondary development; for Ethernet, customer may add an RS485→TCP serial server (third-party / customer-supplied — no model or price on this page).
- Refresh rate: 0.1–20 Hz adjustable (UG230 datasheet); configure to aisle speed and controller capability on site.
Applicable scenarios
- Power / industrial plants: near-range warnings on forklift–pedestrian aisles; prefer local standalone and secondary development.
- Manufacturing / warehousing: pallet-jack and forklift vs. walkers; or AGV side taking hardware data only for in-house avoidance logic.
- Outdoor / semi-outdoor work areas needing IP65 vehicle unit + IP67 person tag and wide vehicle DC supply.
Five implementation steps

- Select and install
- Person wear
- Frequency / refresh configuration
- Linkage commissioning
- Acceptance
