Especially in indoor environments, where precise location information becomes essential, Bluetooth Low Energy's (BLE) Angle of Arrival (AoA) technology provides a highly accurate solution for precisely tracking the location of objects, leading to innovative applications in multiple industries.<\/p><div style=\"height:80px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How AoA technology works<\/h2><p>BLE AoA technology focuses on precise positioning by measuring the angle of arrival (AoA) of a signal. The technology requires a receiver equipped with multiple antennas to receive the same signal from different directions. When a signal is emitted from a transmitting source and reaches the receiver, due to the differences in the positions of the different antennas at the receiver, the same signal causes small differences in timing at different antennas, which can be converted to phase differences and used to meter the<br>Calculate the arrival angle of the signal.<\/p><div style=\"height:80px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Principles of positioning methods and calculation examples<\/h2><p>Phase difference is the central concept in the AoA technique and the measurement process involves the following steps:<\/p><div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><p><strong>1. Signal reception:<\/strong><\/p><p>Multiple antennas of a receiver simultaneously receive signals from the same transmitting source. Due to the fixed spatial distribution between the antennas, the same signal will exhibit time differences across these antennas.<\/p><div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><p><strong>2. Measurement time differences:<\/strong><\/p><p>These time differences, i.e., the difference in arrival times of the signals between the different antennas, can be directly measured by means of sophisticated timing techniques. Data correction:<\/strong><\/p><p>Due to the non-ideal characteristics of the hardware and external environmental factors, the measured phase differences may require further calibration. This will help the reader to understand the entire flow of the application of AoA technology.<\/p><div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Receiving station and transmitting source setup<\/h4><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Receiving station A position: (xA,yA)=(0,0)<\/li>\n\n<li>Receiving station B position: (xB,yB) = (10,0) (in meters)<\/li><\/ul><p>Assume that receiving stations A and B are each configured with multiple antennas and are able to measure the angle of arrival of signals from the same transmitting source.<\/p><div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">angular measurement<\/h4><p>In order to perform the calculations, we first need to determine the angles of arrival measured from the receiving stations A and B.
